Harnessing Natural Quorum Sensing Inhibitors to Prevent Porphyromonas gingivalis-Induced Oral Squamous Cell Carcinoma: An Innovative Approach

Abstract

The quest for effective cancer preventive strategies has led researchers to explore novel ways that go beyond conventional treatments. One such innovative method involves using natural quorum sensing inhibitory compounds to target Porphyromonas gingivalis, a periodontal pathogen that plays a major role in the development of oral squamous cell carcinoma. This letter highlights recent research on natural quorum sensing inhibitors and their implications in prevention of oral squamous cell carcinoma, aiming to shift the focus from treatment to prevention. Efficacy assessment and mechanistic insights are discussed to emphasize the significance of this approach.
