Abstract
This article traces the different stages of the case study regarding the first social street in Forlì, located in Giorgio Regnoli Street. The aim of this analysis is to observe the implementation of the urban security techniques, with a bottom-up focus on community-based experiences. The research has made it possible to examine the impact of social factors and relationship networks on crime rate and public disorder. The objective is to identify links between (in)security perception and the development of social relations that should be encouraged by activities taking place in the social street. The research was conducted using qualitative methodology in order to study the physical characteristics of Giorgio Regnoli Street, the cultural events organised and the social relationships established. Finally the importance of social relationships as one of the principle factors in the reduction of the perception of urban insecurity was highlighted.
