In the dialogue between literature and violence, some literary texts provide readers with empathy about subjective violence and awaken perceptions about systemic and symbolic forms of violence. This article aims to analyze in the novel Olho de Boto(2015), by Salomão Larêdo, the representations and figurations of violence against the LGBTQIA + community, the relations with contemporary conservatism and authoritarianism and from the period of the Civil-Military Dictatorship, respectively the times of production and representation of the work, and the intertextualities established with the Christian Via Crucis. The narrative shows the subjective, systemic and symbolic violence experienced by a trans character who aims to marry her beloved and complete her gender transition during the Brazilian Civil-Military Dictatorship. The character, victim of the compulsory cisheteronormative model, only reaches herobjective after the capitalist co-optation of this right. The main theoretical contributions used in the analysis are Bento (2008), Žižek (2014), Chauí (2017; 2020), Quinalha (2017) and Schwarcz (2019).
