This article it’s about syncretism in afro-brazilian art, yesterday and today. Seven artists make visible the cultural process of miscegenation ocurred in Brazil. First, two of the most important afro-brazilian’s artists of eighteenth century: Aleijadinho and Mestre Valentim. Then, five exponents of contemporary art. The older generation: Rubem Valentim and Master Didi. And the new generation, less tied to ratings and labels, but still loaded with religious sense arising from the Brazil-Africa relationship, the three award-winning artists: Caetano Dias, Eustaquio Neves and Ayrson Heráclito. We can realize, through artists, how the complex syncretic process is reflected at art. Therefore, we aim achieve a little, but great recognition for an issue not finished yet, however, on the other hand, still needs visibility and acceptance.
