In this paper, rather than analysing the encounter between hosts and guests (Smith, 1989; Simonicca, 2005) I try to elucidate the impacts of gouvernemental politics on the promotion of tourism and the activities of foreign investors for establish tourism enterprises in Kuna Yala on the relationship between kuna with foreigners. The analysis takes in consideration two historic moments — 1970s and now – and shows how the landscape and the Kuna culture have been transformed in heritage, first by the foreign interests and then by the same Kuna, to become a treasure.
