Abstract

The inequality of opportunities for women in Latin American countries limits their possibilities to participate in elections. This essay highlights the importance of guaranteeing gender equality in democratic regimes in Latin America, analyzing the efforts that have been made to achieve greater political equality, through various constitutional reforms with the aim of guaranteeing electoral parity.
