THE EFFECTS OF RAIL TRANSPORTATION ON CORN PRODUCTION IN THE NORTH REGION OF ARGENTINA: THE CASE OF BELGRANO CARGAS

Abstract

The corn production is an important activity within the productive framework of the North region. The use of the railroad, particularly the Belgrano Cargas, allows to reduce the transportation cost incurred by the producers, with respect to the use of trucks. In this sense, it is necessary to examine the improvement generated by this change, considering both the provinces and their departments that participate in this economic sector
