NAMA-NAMA SEBUTAN ARJUNA DALAM SÊRAT BHAGAWAD GITA

Name is a special identity for someone who is attached and becomes a marker of their identity. This study aims to describe the names of Arjuna and the basis for naming them in the Sêrat Bhagawad Gita. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative. This study uses a semantic approach. The data source used is the Sêrat Bhagawad Gita, with data in the form of words or phrases to refer to the character of Arjuna. The data analysis technique used was data collection, condensation, presentation (categorization), and interpretation. The analysis used is contextual meaning, namely the delivery of results based on the facts of the data with the context in the source text. Based on the results of the research, it was found that the name Arjuna was mentioned using the Arjuna name directly and using the nickname. The names of Arjuna in the Sêrat Bhagawad Gita, include 1) Pandhu Tanåyå, 2) Panêngahing Pandhåwå, 3) Pandhu Putrå, 4) Atmajaning Prita, 5) Atmajaning Kunthi, 6) Têdhaking Baråtå, 7) Pritå Putrå, 8) Pandhu Sutå, 9) Bêbanthènging Baråtå, 10) Pathining Baråtå, 11) Pêpêthaning Baråtå, 12) Unggul Lawan Kasugihan, 13) Pangrurahing Satru, 14) Bêbanthènging Manungså, 15) Bêbanthènging Jagat, and 16) Kang Kawåwå Påpå. The basis for the naming used in the text is based on his family tree and character prominence. Each designation name has its meaning which gives a special identity to the character of Arjuna. In the naming, the name of the character of Arjuna also uses the dasanama system as a form of naming system in Javanese culture.
