Thoracoscopic surgery for one neonate with broncho-esophageal fistula

Abstract

This article is about a 6-day-old male infant admitted to the hospital presented with a 2-day history of worsening widespread spitting. After a series of treatments, we found that the diagnosis was “broncho-esophageal fistula”. So he was recommended to receive surgical treatment. After preoperative preparation, thoracoscopic ligation of esophagus and bronchospasm was performed.The fistula was 1.5 cm long. The broncho-esophageal fistula was often found in adults, which was often misdiagnosed as pneumonia with bad effective treatment, especially in a newborn, but the non-invasive CT three-dimensional imaging technology can provide a reliable basis for the clear diagnosis of esophageal bronchospasm.
