ON DEFINITION OF YOUTH POSITIVE SOCIALIZATION
Abstract
Current article is dedicated to approaches to definition of socialization in general, and positive socialization in particular. On the basis of concept of positive youth development and zone of social development, socialization can be considered a bidirectional process of mastering socially approved behavior, regulations, norms, roles and inner feeling of psychological well-being by the subject. There are four possible outcomes: prosocial behavior together with high self-approval by subject (positive socialization), asocial behavior with high self-approval (criminal socialization), prosocial behavior with low self-approval and general disappointment in life (disturbed socialization) and asocial behavior with low self-approval (negative socialization). All these types can develop in the process of both directed and chaotic socialization.
