In recent research work aqueous extract of flaxseed (Linum usitatissimum) is used for synthesis of gold nanoparticles (Au-NPs). Synthesized NPs was characterized by various spectroscopic techniques such as FTIR, UV–visible absorption, HPLC, Powder-XRD, X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy XPS, EDX, and TEM analysis. The flaxseed mediated Au-NPs adopt spherical and triangular morphology and distributed without aggregation in the range of 3.4–6.9 nm. The antioxidant efficacy of Au-NPs evaluated by free radical scavenging DPPH assay showed comparable potentials with ABTS assay. Further the synthesized Au-NPs are investigated for their anti-tumor activity against hepatocellular carcinoma (HepG2), breast adenocarcinoma (MCF-7), and colon carcinoma (HCT-116) cell lines. Docking studies explored the eminent affinity of SDG against MCF-7 than lotaustralin, linamarin, linustatin, and neolinustatin glycosides.
