The seroprevalence of Leptospirosis in Thrissur was found to be 32.67 per cent reacting to L. pomona (53.06%), L. canicola (32.65%) and L. icterhaemorrhagiae (14.28%). Leptospirosis was hither to not surveyed in dogs in Kerala and the prevalence rate of 32.67 per cent in Thrissur is significant The change in epidemiology of leptospirsis in dogs with prevalence to agglutinin to L. pomna in addition to L. canicola and L. icterohaemorrhagiae is highlighted based on this study and hence the need to include L. pomonabacterin in canine vaccines.
