Abstract
The paper deals with the linguistic situation of about a hundred years ago and the position of Ivo Andrić and Blaž Jurišić in the standard 20th century newŠtokavian. It also gives Andrić’s criticism of the novel Posljednji Nenadić (The Last Nenadić) and Andro Kovačević’s and Jurišić’s response to this criticism.
