In the context of the fight against obesity, every individual is required to adopt a healthy life style. Our study (www.apasapa.eu) aimed to understand the adoption strategies of these normative directions in urban working-class neighbourhoods in Europe. Based on a comparative analysis of four national health promotion programs (France, Germany, Switzerland, Italy), we conducted group discussions with children (n=167) and interviews with parents (n=35), living in six as poor considered neighbourhoods. The data were analysed with the software MAXQDA. In this paper, we will outline the four identified « types of mothers » in relation to their expressed strategies of ethical compensation.
