This research was initially motivated by personal experience where the surrounding environment assumed that women should not do strenuous activities because it would harm their bodies and this was associated with myths. The method used in this research is qualitative descriptive with a case study approach (CaseStudy). The subject and the place of research are the people of Kampung Cijerokaso Rw 10 as many as 4 people. In this study, researchers used instruments in the form of interviews and observations. Data processing techniques used are Data Categorization, Data Presentation, Verification. The results of the study indicate that public perception leads to positive or the community agrees and supports the existence of equality in women in sports. On the other hand, although the community supports gender equality for women, the community hopes that there will be differences between men and women, for example in terms of time, intensity, weight and so on or can be done according to needs and portions. The problem with myths is that people accept these things but don't believe in them because after all, myths will not disappear even though times have become more sophisticated because Indonesia is a country rich in different local wisdoms. This research is limited in data that has a large scope, because the researchers only researched the neighborhood level environment, it is necessary in the future research can be carried out with large data and using other methods such as quantitative and combination so that the public perception of gender equality in women can be known more in sports.
