A new species of the genus Proformica Ruzsky, 1902 (Hymenoptera, Formicidae) from North Ossetia and key to identification of Proformica species of the Caucasian Isthmus

Abstract

Proformica ossetica sp. n. is described from Northern Ossetia. The new species is close to endemic species from Caucasus: P. kobachidzei Arnoldi, 1968 and P. pilosiscapus Dlussky, 1969, but differs from these and other species by the character accumbent downiness of abdomen, more abundant raised downiness of a breasts and abdomen and measurements of a head both large, and small workers.
