This article aims to present the results of a research that sought to promote the practice of literary reading in the technical course of Eletroelectronics of the Federal Institute of Education, Science and Technology of Ceará - Campus Caucaia. Twenty-three students from the fourth and fifth semesters participated in the study during the months of February and March of 2018. The research was carried out in two moments. In the first, a semi-structured interview was applied to the students to understand their gaze in the direction of literary reading. In this study, only half of the students stated that they felt the need to practice literary reading. In the second moment, a "reading site" was elaborated in the Electroelectronics laboratory to closely observe the student's manifestations in relation to the literature books. Thus, the students spent living with the literature books in the daily school, as a way to motivate them to practice literary reading. It is possible to affirm that during the two months, practically all the students expressed motivation by the practice of the literary reading, being able to create, over time, the necessity of the literary reading. This is because during the intervals of the classes many students performed the practice of literary reading. The pedagogical methodology was guided by the following authors: Calkins (2001), Smith (1991), Bajard (2007), Miller (2013), Jolibert (1994) and Foucambert (2008).
