“Il vero terremoto arriva adesso”: il ruolo dello psicologo nella fase di smantellamento dei campi
Abstract
The present article describes the intervention implemented by the psychologists during the earthquake emergency in Abruzzo, in 2009. Specifically, it focuses on on what they did in close collaboration with the Civil Protection during the taking down of the camps of Monticchio 1 and 2 and Paganica 5. We expand on the importance of communication in emergency situations and on the possible causes of confusion in communication and its effects. We reflect on the reasons at the basis of the tensions and the ambivalent emotions felt both by the population and the workers, emphasizing the importance of the mutual recognition of the respective roles by the different forces involved and hoping for the institution of consolidated intervention practices.
