In this article, we present some elements of Gaston Bachelard epistemology as the Epistemological Profile for discussing of aspects related to the teaching of chemistry. Our goal was to propose a model of Epistemological Profile for the concept of “transformations”, from the chemistry textbooks of the first grade of high school approved in the National Textbook Program of 2018 (PNLD from Portuguese). So, from floating reading of the selected chapters, we checked the amount and the context in which the word "transformation" was used. We classified these in predetermined regions and proposed an epistemological profile of the concept for each book investigated. We observed that in all investigated books the epistemological profile region in spotlight was the classical rationalism one, when compared with the others, this could be caused by an attempt to awaken reflections, in a way that students develop the scientific spirit from their already existing ideas.
