Dombóvár környéki települések német nemzetiségű lakosságának létszámváltozása 1941–2011 között
Abstract
The original variant of study was to found creation of natural park around Dombóvár. It covers the topic of number of German inhabitants involved in this programme and its changes in 14 settlements from 1941 to present days. The Germans remaining and survival in this area was helped by the fact that they were situated in a block in Tolna county. The first wave of retaliation against the Germans was that thousands of them were dragged to the Soviet Union on the turn of 1944-45. Definite loss based on the data meant 5.9% in the area. Among the examined German inhabited settlements Hőgyész, Kalaznó, Kisvejke, Lengyel and Závod were effected by a disadvantageous turn of events namely that they had to take the Szekelys in. On 14th May 1945 there was a party decision made about transporting more Germans. Of course decisions made about Germans at Potsdam conference were needed to achieve its tragic purpose. Based on accepted laws fulfillment of deporting Germans starting in 1946 halted due to the Americans backing out. Renewal was mainly caused by putting into practice Czechoslovakian and Hungarian inhabitant-exchange. It is difficult to ascertain the number of deported as not each document found in places is clear. Unfortunately Tolna county average was reached by villages surrounding Dombóvár in terms of loss rate. In censuses between 1949-1980 much fewer people declared Germans than it was guessed by researchers and official governments. By 1990 old fears must have ceased among the Germans. In spite of this fact results of official surveys did not show essential growth. In 2001-2011 declarations showed significant growth, which has been interpreted in different ways by researchers. Inclination to declare has also grown quite significantly around Dombóvár.
