Knowledge management and its importance in organizations

Abstract

in today’s organizations, having knowledge is not enough since it is important to make sure this knowledge is the necessary element for carrying out the tasks and it has to be accessible for people who need it and it must be stored, transmitted and used in daily processes. This paper, from a critical review of the literature and as part of a doctoral research of one of the authors, describes the development of the concept of knowledge management, the elements of the process as the most representative models in this matter, and its importance in contemporary organizations role.
