EFFECT OF SOURCES OF ORGANIC FERTILIZERS ON THE GROWTH OF THREE TYPES OF YOUNG PALM TREES
Abstract
ABSTRACT:A working experiment was carried out at the Agricultural, Research and Al-Experiments Statione in Sayadha, area (located at latitudes 35.33 N and 44.34 East longitude) of the Department of Horticulture and Garden Engineering, College of Agriculture – University, of Kirkuk, Iraq, for the period frome March (2023) to December (2023), to study the effect of sources ,of organic fertilizer for growth of three varieties ,of young palm trees (Yellow Shwaithi, Khastawi, Khadrawi), organic fertilization was at four levels (poultry waste 2 kg tree-1, poultry waste ,4 kg tree-1, sheep waste ,4 kg tree-1, sheep waste 8 kg tree) as well as a comparison treatment. The experiment was conducted on 45 young trees homogeneous in vegetativ growths as much as possibles, and at the age of four years and planted on dimensions of 8×8 m, the experiments was carried out Accor to the design, of random sectors with, the split plot design system, and the varieties were counted within the main plot panels and organic fertilizati, treatments within the secondarys plots, the, experimental unit was represented by a single tree. The results can be summarized as follows:1. In organic fertilization coefficients, it is noted that poultry waste is superior to sheep waste when these two fertilizers are added with an average of 4 kg tree-1, but sheep residues at the level of (8) kg tree-1 gave superiority to all to increase the height of the plant by 21.88 cm, the increase in the length of the fronds by 24.54 cm, 10.04 palm fronds-1, the increase in the length of the palm tree by 4.75 cm, the increase in the width of the frond by 9.51 cm and the percentage of dry matter by 51.43%.
