THE PERSONALITY OF KORKUT IN THE KAZAKH LEGENDS

Abstract

This article is devoted to the legendary personality of the Turkic world, the famous priest of the Oguz state - Korkyt Ata, who lived on Kazakh land. During the research, were used works of some authors and legends about an outstanding personality and it is described in detail that Korkyt was a healer-witch, and sometimes he was known even as a holy man. In addition, the author adheres of the opinion that Korkyt was a kind of predictor and diverted with his advice and edification.
