Road embankment model with heat insulating layer at freeze/thaw conditions

Abstract

The experimental setup for testing road embankment with heat insulating layer at freeze/thaw conditions is given. The setup makes possible to research an effect of heat insulating layer on soil temperature distribution and deformations of freezing layer. An estimation of the affectivity of various heat-insulating materials is possible also.
