Rehabilitation career counseling self-efficacy

Meaningful work promotes individual independence and is important to holistic well-being. In regard to counseling, career counseling services are of upmost importance to help clients obtain and sustain employment. This study compared career counseling self-efficacy among counselors, specifically analyzing different types of counselors; results showed that there was a statistically significant difference in career counseling self-efficacy mean scores between rehabilitation and clinical mental health counselors, while no such difference emerged between rehabilitation and school counselors. Implications for these findings are discussed in the context of career counseling, employment, and counselor training.
