Survey of the Arboreal-Shurb component present in Campus II of the Universidade Estadual de Alagoas / Levantamento do componente Arbóreo-Arbustivo presente no Campus II da Universidade Estadual de Alagoas
Abstract
The vegetation present in a university campus contributes to a healthier physical environment, improves its microclimate and provides a more pleasant temperature due to shadows, evapotranspiration and reduction of air pollution, as well as serving as an instrument for teaching and research. Thus, the objective of this work was to identify the native and exotic shrub and tree species of Campus II of the State University of AlagoasUNEAL, Santana do Ipanema. For that, monthly collections of fertile organs of the species that were in the period of flowering and / or fruiting were carried out, as well as photographic record of all the organs found in the plants. After the collection, the fertile branches were pressed, dried and soon afterwards were herborized. For the identification of the material we used the specialized literature, virtual herbaria, identification keys and specialist consultations. A total of 63 species were cataloged in 25 families. One species was not identified and two were not identified. Of the species identified, 40 have arboreal habit and 23 have shrub habit, being 34 native and 29 exotic. The most abundant families were Fabaceae with 22 species, being the family with the highest floristic richness, followed by Euphorbiaceae with 6 species, Arecaceae, Malvaceae and Anacardiaceae with 3 species, and the other families with 1 or 2 species. Therefore, it is expected that the results of this work will improve knowledge about the local flora, providing data for its use in teaching, research and the correct management of afforestation.
