The preventive maintenance trade-off model

Abstract

The paper presents a general model for preventive maintenance of motor vehicles and other systems based on a 'trade-off' between maximum availability and minimum maintenance cost. This model and developed software give optimal intervals for preventive maintenance as a compromise between the extremes of the corresponding criterion functions for elements of motor vehicles and other systems.
