To resolve the endpoint effects and mode mixing (MM) that arise during harmonic current detection using Hilbert-Huang Transform (HHT), an improved harmonic current detection method based on HHT is proposed. First, the paper employs an enhanced waveform matching endpoint extension method along with the modified ensemble empirical mode decomposition (MEEMD) technique to extend and decompose the harmonic current signal under detection. This process yields a series of intrinsic mode functionality (IMF). Next, the Hilbert Transform (HT) is applied to each IMF to obtain their instantaneous frequencies and amplitudes. Finally, by averaging these results, the amplitude and frequency information for each harmonic current component are extracted. Simulation analyses confirm that this method effectively resolves the endpoint effects and mode mixing encountered in HHT-based harmonic current detection.
