Formation Patterns for Beekeeping Terms in Dajnko’s Čelarstvo (Beekeeping, 1831)
Abstract
This article presents formation patterns for beekeeping terms in Peter Dajnko’s work Čelarstvo (Beekeeping). Similar to other branches of agriculture, basic beekeeping vocabulary has been inherited from the Common Slavic lexicon. With the development of beekeeping as a profession, new concepts developed, and thus the need for new terminology, which was created following various formation patterns. Dajnko’s beekeeping vocabulary shows formation patterns that are presented in three groups: semantic, derivational, and syntactic formation patterns.
