To think spiral: reflections on crystallisation of a people

Abstract

Posfundacional political thought emphasizes the importance of “the political”, of the founding moment of rupture, when the representation creates a new political identity. Assuming that point (yet leaving aside), here we began developing a new concern, which probably comes from an also novel regional historical moment: thinking the representation, but not placing the emphasis on what breaks, which establishes and creates, but rather in that it consolidates and settles, i.e. what we might call the "institutional moment" of representation, meaning that it is necessary to sustain and deepen a transformative democratic process.
