In defense of “real interest” secondary education in the educational speech of O Estado de S. Paulo (1946-1957)
Abstract
This article presents the educational speech of O Estado de S. Paulo after the Estado Novo, articulating its update to the changes of the journalism. The reforms enterprise and graphical developed from 1945, aimed to the modernization of the periodical and the increment of its sales. That had lead to the predominance of the notice and news articles in detriment of the opinion, transforming the editorials into privileged places for its manifestation. The new politics of conscription of collaborators, in turn, brought of the College of Philosophy, Sciences and Letters of the University of São Paulo (USP) some of its first “bacharéis”. That allowed that the intellectuals of the USP, by means of the writings of Laerte Ramos de Carvalho, converted its ideas on secondary education into “clarified public opinion”.
