The monophyly and the classification of the terrestrial isopods (Crustacea, Isopoda, Oniscidea)

Abstract

In accordance with our previous opinions (Tabacaru and Danielopol, 1996, 1999; Tabacaru and Giurginca, 2014, 2019), we argue again the monophyly of Oniscidea one of the well-defined suborders of the Order Isopoda. The monophyly of Oniscidea was maintained by numerous authors but the polyphyly of this group is recently claimed by molecular analysis papers.
