War Against Drugs and Youth Criminalization: The Illegality Dullness, the Functionality of Anesthetization

Abstract

The article aims to analyze the problematic and ambiguous relationship between youth and psychotropic substances mediated by police agencies and social control, guided by simplistic definition of legality and criminalization. This work comes from empirical research that seeks to bring the subject and profane speech of young private liberty and is guided by theoretical and analytical accumulation permitted by critical criminology. The aim is to enable better understanding of the reality in which they find young people who are objects of penal control in Brazil, and, from the formation of a critical awareness, to facilitate a process of social change, theoretical, cultural and legal.
