Les fouilles de la cour Napoléon du Louvre : un laboratoire pour la profession

Abstract

In parallel with the recollection and inventory of the archives of the excavation of Cour Napoleon in the Louvre (1984-1986), a study was undertaken of the actors of this great site. Many of them have become professional archaeologists, and this adventure was a founding one. Thanks to interviews carried out to complete the archives, a portrait of the profession in France in the mid-1980s emerges and a more complex and contrasted story is emerging.
