Thermo-economic Analysis of Solar Organic Rankine Cycle System
Abstract
Organic Rankine cycle (ORC) system is one of the ideal avenues of power generation from low-grade heat. The low-temperature heat source of solar thermal power generation can be perfectly combined with the ORC system. In order to ensure the thermal performance and economic performance of the solar ORC system, it is necessary to compare and analyze the key design parameters and operation parameters. The Parabolic trough solar ORC system is instanced to establish a heat balance model and an economic model of the system. Through simulation analysis, the effects of different design and operation parameters, such as solar collector area, heat transfer oil inlet temperature and evaporator superheating temperature, on the thermal performance and economic performance of the ORC system are analyzed. It is proved that the first two factors have a positive impact on the thermal performance and economic performance of the system.
