The impact of the school educational environment on primary school teachers’ commitment to educational quality
Abstract
Abstract A positive school climate fosters a learning atmosphere that inspires students and teachers, promotes successful teaching and facilitating activities, and has an impact on teacher commitment and student accomplishment. Unfavorable working conditions and a heavy workload have been observed in Malaysian schools. As a result, the purpose of this study was to investigate the impact of school atmosphere and teacher commitment on primary school teachers in Malaysia. The School Level Environment Questionnaire (SLEQ) and Teacher Commitment Scale (TCS) survey questionnaires were used in the study, which included 258 respondents from 15 primary schools. The IBM-SPSS 25.0 and SmartPLS 3 were used to analyse the data. According to the result, there is a strong link between school environment and teacher commitment among primary school teachers in the one state of east coast of Malaysia. Furthermore, the findings reveal that three aspects of the school climate, namely instructional innovation, decision-making, and cooperation, have a significant impact on teacher commitment. School administrators should work to improve the overall quality of the school atmosphere in order to inspire teachers to provide more dedication to students and the organisation, as well as to assist increase school success holistically.
