Les ornements liturgiques au XIXe siècle : origine, fabrication et commercialisation, l’exemple du diocèse de Moulins (Allier)
Abstract
Since the II Vatican Council, the wish of the Catholic Church for simplification in order to reduce the distance, both physically and psychologically, between their Ministers and all the believers, contributed to abandon some complex aspects of the liturgy. Nowadays, the liturgical ornaments studying, reports their role during the rites and the particular attention paid to their realization. The XIXth century is often considered as the golden age of their confection. A research led in the diocese of Moulins, allowed to reveal the wealth and the variety of this period’s collections, as well as the renewal of their symbolic and political mean.
