Research on the Techniques of Quality of Transmission Estimation for 100 Gbit/s PDM-QPSK Systems
Abstract
The techniques of transmission performance optimization for high-speed coherent optical detection based 100Gbit/s PDM-QPSK systems is studied under the irregular fiber span configuration scenario.The analytical calculation model for the optimal link configurations is obtained under the irregular fiber span scenario.Numerical simulations are carried out for verification.Simulation results show that the optimal configuration scheme outperforms the conventional full span loss compensation scheme with 1.3dB Qfactor improvement.This optimal configuration method can be effectively applied for current link design and online performance optimizations in 100Gbit/s PDM-QPSK systems,to improve their transmission performance under the irregular span scenarios.
