“La matanza” Memoria y poética de la transmisión

Abstract

In the “Chaco Indigenous Colony” (Argentina), the national State repressed a movement of indigenous resistance in 1924. This is known as “La Matanza” [the slaughter]. Based on the testimony of Lino Fernández, recorded on video in 2004, explanatory comments are made regarding the experience of the interview, the oral account and its recording, especially considering the convergence of the event’s narration and the way it is culturally transmitted.
