An educational model of the H igh S chool conceives the formation of a scientific culture in the s tudents in order to project committed attitudes with an ambi a nce of environmental sustainability. The present article suggests learni n g situations for an environmental - scien tific education that integrate s the curricul ar and context ́s matter in the pedagogical proces s from a fo r mative approach that recogni zes the environmental thinking of José Martí. In the subjet geography , Martí ́s environmental approach is shown, where we ca n remark the theat me nt of the fomative elements such as love and ethic - a esthetic vision of nature, a complex and holistic point of view, as well as a recognition of an environmental identity as a part of the latin american contex.
