Objectives The purpose of the article is to analyze the Polish policy towards refugees from Ukraine after February 24, 2022, including indicating actions taken to them by society, non -governmental organizations, local governments and state central bodies. Attention was paid to the social, economic and cultural aspects of migration, as well as the possible scenarios of the development of the situation, depending primarily on the development of the conflict in Ukraine. Material and methods The article uses scientific research methods, in particular: empirical, theoretical (analysis, synthesis, abstraction). System, functional methods were also used, with particular emphasis on sociological and comparative research methods. Results Poland, as one of the first countries in Europe, has taken a number of activities aimed at supporting Ukrainian citizens during the Russian invasion. It is noteworthy that this support was significantly of grassroots social initiatives, based on the involvement of individual citizens, social groups and non -governmental organizations. Their activity was an essential element of the refugee assistance system co -organized by local authorities and government administration. Conclusions The prolonged war in Ukraine forced the introduction of a number of solutions that allow on the one hand to provide the necessary assistance to refugees, and on the other hand they include them in active functioning in society, while relieving individual Polish citizens of the necessity of incurring full costs of supporting immigrants. Children from Ukraine went to school, both to special preparatory departments and classes with Polish students. It should be emphasized that the takeover of children by the educational system allowed to enter the Polish labor market for women looking after them.
