The purpose of this paper is to provide a detailed analysis of a short film by Jean-Luc Godard: L’Amore, produced in 1967 and released as a part of the French-Italian collective movie Amore e rabbia. This film can be seen as representative of the political issues that shook the European cinema in the late 1960s, but it also addresses new answers to it. Therefore, while identifying the links between this film and some of Godard’s other works, we will try to explore its aesthetic and formal singularity. We shall focus on two themes that underlay the film: the desire to look outwards the boundaries of Europe, and the political figuration of loving experience.
