The work of elementary school in Socanica and its branches
Abstract
In Leposavic municipality, beside the school of the same name in that largest town of the area, there are schools working in Lesak and Socanica. This article draws attention to work of Elementary School 'Vuk Karadzic' in Socanica and its branches in Gornja Socanica and Vuca (Northern part of Kosovo and Metohia). In addition to the basic historical view of foundation, development and work of the school and elementary education in the subject area, we describe and discuss the state characteristic for the first half of the second decade of the 21st century. The school gives an opportunity of employment to young high educated staff from this region, thus giving also, among other things, its contribution to survival of Serbian people at their centuries old firesides. All teaching activities are organized and realized in accordance with curricula issued by the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Serbia, applied in all parts of our country. From year to year the school has been achieving better and better results, both in sense of material and technical educational conditions, and in sense of variety of work, choice of possible activities and individual success of great number of its pupils, who continue their education in secondary schools, later at universities, qualifying themselves for good jobs.
