Transformations Of Contemporary Arab Criticism: From The Paradigm Of Simplification To The Paradigm Of Complexity And Pluralism: The Reception Of Interdisciplinary Sciences In Contemporary Arab Criticism
Abstract
Abstract: In the second half of the twentieth century, the world witnessed a scientific revolution that impacted various fields, including literary criticism. This period saw an increase in cultural openness to the West, which influenced Arab criticism, leading it to adopt Western theories and approaches in studying literary texts. This study aims to uncover the crisis in contemporary Arab criticism, which stems from an unbalanced dependence on Western methodologies and delayed assimilation. It raises questions about cultural openness and its impact on criticism. The study concludes that Arab criticism needs a methodological development, which can be achieved by adopting the "paradigm of interdisciplinarity" that combines authenticity and openness, potentially freeing Arab criticism from dependency and strengthening its cultural role.
