Critical changes of ecological status of entrails within Donbas

Abstract

The author analyzed main factors of Donbas geological environment (GE) long term changes in the zone influence of military conflict factors. Long period of coal extraction (more 150 years), big sites of GE destroying (about 15 000 km2), huge volume of coal and rocks extraction (9,5–10,0 bln. m3), annual exhaust of explosive methan about 6,0 bln. m3, regional distribution about 4 000 dangerous industrial objects (chemical, metallurgical etc.) had created unstable technogenic-geological system (TGS) “technogenic objects-geological environment”. This TGS will be suffered by dangerous geological processes fnd critical changes of GE after uncontrolled coal mines closure and its flooding. In this conditions the additional subsidence and deformation­s of surface,overmoisturing and flooding lands, contamination of underground and surface water taking systems will be take place on regional level. Factors of military influence (disturbance of energy supply, mine water pumping and ventilation etc.) are able to accelerate of GE dangerous irreversible changes and worsening of local population life conditions safety on regional and transbondary level. Decision of above mentioned problems is possible on base the organizing of International scientific-analytical expert group, accelerated perfec­tion of regional ecological monitoring system on base of remote and GIS technologies, mathematical modeling of TGS, elaboration of ecologically safe schemes of mineral resources extraction.
