Mental health actions developed in a family health strategy

Aim: to identify mental health actions developed in a Family Health Strategy. Method: this is a qualitative study. Data were collected through an interview from April to May 2016. Data were analyzed according to the content analysis. The research scenario was a Family Health Strategy of a municipality in the West Frontier of Rio Grande do Sul / Brazil. Fifteen professionals participated in the study. Results: the use of light technologies, home visits, interaction with the population, the team's humanitarian profile and proximity to the University were highlighted by professionals as important strategies for mental health care in the territory. Conclusion: it can be seen that the implementation of several actions in mental health has been taking place gradually in Primary Care. However, more studies on the subject need to be developed.
