The aim of this study was to measure the cognitive stage of the newly-admitted students in theCollege of Education, King Saud University in the first semester of the academic year 1989/1990. The mostimportant result was that 73% of the students were at the concrete stage, 26% of the students were at atransitional stage. And7% , one student, of the students was at the abstract stage. We need to take greatcaution in interpreting or generalizing the results of this study.
