Antibiotics are employed both therapeutically and preventively. These medications are frequently used as supportive measures for preventing the spread of infection in the case of odontogenic infections. A good treatment outcome depends greatly on having a thorough grasp of the illness process, the antibiotics' mode of action, and the microorganisms' susceptibility to the specific medications. Since there is no established protocol for the use of antibiotics in dentistry, they have frequently been used improperly or excessively. Drug resistance and other problems are brought on by this. An antibioma is a thick-walled abscess that frequently develops as a result of poor pus drainage during an infection and improper antibiotic administration on the part of the patient.
