Background. The aim of the research was to study the anatomy and dimensionaltopographic characteristics of the incisive canal in the first adulthood depending on the shape of the bone palate. Materials and methods.80 men and 94 women (174 persons) aged from 21 years to 35 years (the first adulthood) were examined. Bone palate parameters were studied on cast dental models; dimensional-topographic characteristics of the incisive canal were done on cone-beam computed tomography. Results. Sizes of the nasal foramen in persons with ascending shape of the bone palate is larger than in persons with horizontal and domed shapes of the palate. The mesio-distal diameter of the foramen incisivum in persons with ascending shape of bone palate is greater than in persons with horizontal and domed shapes of the palate. The distance between the foramen incisivum and the labial-lower point of the alveolar process of the maxillary in the domed bone palate is greater than in the palate of the horizontal and ascending shapes. The inclination angle of the incisive canal relative to the long axis of the alveolar process in a domed bone palate is greater than in an ascending bone palate. Conclusion. The incisive canal has a pronounced individual variability in anatomy, size and topography depending on the shape of the bone palate in the sagittal plane.
