This article presents an analysis of the port sector of Sergipe and Alagoas, in particular the Inácio Barbosa Maritime Terminal (TMIB), located in Barra dos Coqueiros/SE, and the Port of Jaraguá (Maceió/AL), considering the relative modernization, public and private investments and the existing bottlenecks. Foment port activity (infrastructures, installations, equipment, information and communication technologies, software etc.) is relevant to stimulate regional dynamics, however, the two states have a little dynamic (underinvestment) port system. The cabotage and long course transport carried out by the two ports constitute networks and cargo flows and articulate, respectively, the national territory and Brazil to other countries.
